Scorekeepers operate the clock and scorebook to keep accurate scores of the game in progress, have knowledge of basketball rules and maintain a safe and positive atmosphere for participants.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare appropriate equipment (clock and scoreboard)
- Assists adults sports official, participants, answers questions, and maintains a positive experience
- Notify management of facility needs and any problems that may arise
- Ensure safety standards are met and department and facility policies are followed
- Provide first aid when needed along with an accident report
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Knowledge of basketball rules
- Ability to be professional and enforce rules
- Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members and the public
Physical Skills:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, kneel, reach and manipulate objects, as well as talk and/or hear. This position requires mobility. This position requires the employee to be able to project their voice so that participants can hear instructions.
Hours and Compensation:
We are in need of one scorekeeper for the Thursday night Men's Basketball League played at the Grafton High School Auxiliary gym on December 3 and 10; January 14, 21 and 28; and February 11, 18 and 25 from 6:30 p.m. to potentially 9:30 p.m.
The starting hourly rate is $15.26.
